WELCOME

Hiya.

Thanks for stopping by. Chances are it's no accident and you're here because you've read one of my books. If it's only one, the good news is that there's more for you to read. If you've read them all, then we're probably related.

Feel free to wander around. And if you're interested in a little more regular contact, sign up for the biannual newsletter.

On sale in the U.S. and Canada February, 2010

Special Agent Vin Cooper of the AFOSI is back chasing the bad guys halfway across the world, as well as shooting himself in the foot, in HARD RAIN. Things are going badly for Cooper with his former lover, Special Agent Anna Masters, but not as badly as they’re going for the U.S. Air Attaché to Turkey, who has been found diced into itty-bitty pieces. UK GHOST WATCH REPRINTS PRIOR TO RELELEASE

GHOST WATCH, the fourth book in the Vin Cooper series, has reprinted prior to release on April 1, 2011.

When I was informed of this, the good news kept me up all night and caused me to forgive the England drubbing of Australia in the recent Ashes test.

GHOST WATCH UK release reprints

DEATH TRUST GETS THIRD REPRINT.

THE DEATH TRUST, first book in the SA Vin Cooper series, is to be reprinted. This is almost as good as it gets in publishing, short of receiving a call from Jerry Bruckheimer to enquire about film rights (which hasn't happened yet, Jerry...). What this means is that word of mouth is starting to kick in. It means the next book to feature Cooper has a better chance of being published in the U.S. Better yet, it also increases the likelihood that I won't have to go and get a real job.

NOT A BAD TRAILER, TRASH TALENT ASIDE

Have a look at the movie-style trailer for my current release in Australia and New Zealand, A ZERO OPTION. Trust me, the book is way better than the acting.

THE ZERO OPTION PUBLISHED JULY 1, 2009.

THE ZERO OPTION is my sixth book. It's a stand-alone based on the shooting down of Korean Air Lines Flight 007, a 747 with 269 passengers and crew, off Sakhalin Island by the Soviet Union in 1983. The story spans roughly thirty years and comes to a climax shortly before the US Presidential elections in 2012. This book is a departure for me, mostly because Vin Cooper isn't the protagonist. For those of you interested in such things, this one took a year and a half to research, a year to write and four months to edit. And I think it's my best book so far.

US CITIZENS PLS NOTE. THE ZERO OPTION is not yet available in North America. If you can't wait for it to be published on your shores, go to www.macmillan.com.au

NORTH AMERICAN READERS PLEASE NOTE.

This website may confuse you because it talks about books that haven't been released in your market. Hell, it confuses me too. The story is this: hard cover and paperback versions of THE DEATH TRUST, A KNIFE EDGE and HARD RAIN have been released on US and Canadian shores. GHOST WATCH, the fourth Special Agent Vin Cooper book, has been released in Australia and New Zealand only (UK to follow in March, 2011). North American readers will have to wait till I get a publisher in your neck of the woods, otherwise go to www.macmillan.com.au and order your heart's desire there.

HARD RAIN MAKES BEST SELLER LIST.

HARD RAIN, the third book in the series featuring Special Agent featuring Special Agent Vin Cooper, made the Sydney Morning Herald best sellers list (Spectrum 2/8). This was a great result for me becuase it means that I can now really big note myself at dinner parties.

Apparently the other books in the Vin Cooper series have received a kick up the sales butt, too, as a result of the success of HARD RAIN.

Ghost Watch. Available October 1, 2010

Special Agent Vin Cooper is feeling reckless, so he volunteers for the dumbest and most dangerous job going: personal security operations in Afghanistan protecting bent politicians. But when his principal is killed in a suicide bomb attack, Cooper is reassigned to a cushy job nursing a couple of needy African-American entertainers putting on a show for US military advisors at a secret base in Rwanda.

Or so he thinks.

Things go horribly wrong when their United Nations chopper is forced down in the Democratic Republic of Congo in the middle of an all-out firefight by opposing forces. The nightmare only intensifies when some of Cooper’s people, including one of the entertainers, are captured.

While risking his life to rescue his principals, Cooper spies a US DoD advisor in the enemy encampment, which is awash with American weaponry. It seems that their forced landing in this inhospitable place was no accident.

"Keep an eye on your rear vision mirror."

The ZERO OPTION is my sixth book. A film producer in the U.S. read it and told me when he’d finished, “I’d keep an eye on your rear vision mirror if I were you.”

It's a story based on the shooting down of Korean Air Lines Flight 007, a 747 with 269 passengers and crew aboard, off Sakhalin Island by the Soviet Union in 1983. The story spans roughly thirty years and comes to a climax shortly before the US Presidential elections in 2012. It’s pretty tough in places and names a few names. If I get a dose of Polonium through the mail, you’ll know why. For a more complete story line, click here

Cheap Thrills

THE DEATH TRUST has gone paperback in the US, which means that you can pick up a copy for less than eight bucks. That's pretty damn cheap for entertainment that will keep you up night after night - for week after week if you're remedial...
